Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has stirred debate with his remarks on Nigeria’s current state.
In an interview with Wazobia TV, 2Baba said he believes the country is in a better position now than it was in previous years. He also revealed that he has taken it upon himself to act as a self-appointed ambassador for Nigeria, promising to portray the nation positively wherever he goes.
“We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it. It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand. I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria, an ambassador everywhere, I am a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere,” he said.
The comments have, however, attracted criticism online, with many users disputing his optimistic view in light of ongoing issues such as insecurity and economic hardship in the country.
