Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis in a deal worth around £33.8 million.
The Gunners are closing in on the 24-year-old Greek international as they look to replace Leandro Trossard, who recently completed a £15.3 million move to Besiktas.
Tzolis is said to be eager to join Arsenal after an outstanding campaign with Club Brugge, where he scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists across all competitions, helping the Belgian side secure their 20th league title.
The winger, who previously spent three seasons at Norwich City, becomes Arsenal’s second summer signing following the arrival of goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer after his exit from Leeds United.
Arsenal have also completed the permanent signing of defender Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen after his successful loan spell last season.
Despite the move for Tzolis, the North London club are still interested in Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, with reports suggesting the deal will not affect their pursuit of the England international.
The Gunners could also strengthen their defence further depending on the extent of William Saliba’s back injury sustained during France’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain.
