The Confederation of African Football has officially revised its records to name Morocco as winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, while Senegal are now listed as runners-up.
This change follows a decision by CAF’s Appeals Board on March 18, which overturned the original outcome of the final played on January 18 in Rabat. A check of CAF’s official records on Monday confirms Morocco as champions of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON 2025 tournament.
Nigeria maintains its position as the third-placed team. The ruling hands Morocco its second AFCON title and its first triumph since 1976.
The final, held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, had been surrounded by controversy following several disputed incidents during the match.
