Galatasaray has confirmed that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has successfully undergone wrist surgery.
The 27-year-old sustained the injury last week during Galatasaray’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg. Osimhen briefly returned to Nigeria before flying back to Turkey on Sunday for the operation.
A statement on the club’s official website read, “Our player Victor Osimhen, who was injured and unable to continue playing in our away match against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, underwent a successful operation today at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, performed by our club doctor, Op. Dr. Yener İnce. We send our best wishes to our player and hope he returns to the pitch as soon as possible.”
While the exact recovery timeline remains unclear, sources indicate Osimhen could be sidelined for three to four months.
