The National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, returned to the NURTW National Secretariat on Tuesday following Monday’s attempted takeover by Tajudeen Baruwa.

Footage obtained by our correspondent shows security personnel stationed both inside and outside the secretariat, as well as visible damage to offices and property caused during Monday’s unrest.

Baruwa and six associates were earlier arrested by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command after trying to enforce a court order at the secretariat without the presence of court sheriffs or other officials. The police said the group’s actions were unauthorized and contributed to the chaos.

In a statement on Tuesday, MC Oluomo clarified that he was not a defendant in the disputed court ruling. He added that the judgment had been appealed and a stay of execution had been properly entered, denying any legal basis for Baruwa’s attempted takeover.
