Salt of Life, the sister of Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, has alleged that suspected agberos vandalised her car after mistaking her for the award-winning artiste.
In a post shared on social media, she uploaded a video showing the damage to her vehicle, explaining that she had only stepped out to dance before the incident occurred.
She said the situation became more upsetting because the men repeatedly called out Ayra Starr’s name, believing she was the singer. Describing the experience as heartbreaking, she urged authorities to address what she called the growing menace of agberos in Lagos.
She wrote:
“i just went to dance.
They damaged my car yesterday and honestly it was so sad!!!
And the fact that they kept shouting Ayrastarr cause they thought I was her even worse that made it.
THIS HAS TO STOP
Imagine, this is what happens now in Lagos once you drive a nice car. These Agberos/Area Boys won’t let you go except you give them money. If you don’t give them, them might stone your car and break something. So basically, it’s by force.
This is not good. How can this be controlled cause it’s getting out of hand?”
