Teddy Don-Momoh, the widower of late gospel singer Kefee, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his wife, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, only weeks after the couple welcomed their first child.

Lara’s family announced her passing in a statement shared on her official Instagram page on Monday, revealing that she died peacefully after a brief illness.

The statement read:

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh.

After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully.”

The family appealed for privacy as they mourn their loss and asked friends, supporters and the public to keep them in their prayers during the difficult period.

They also said:

“During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss.”

According to the statement, details of Lara’s funeral and other family arrangements will be announced in due course.

“Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and other family matters will be communicated in due course.”

Her death comes less than two weeks after she and Teddy Don-Momoh celebrated the birth of their first child together, a milestone that was widely celebrated by family, friends and well-wishers.
