Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa is bereaved following the death of his father-in-law, Hamza Majowogbe, the Olu of Ibido-Omu in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Majowogbe died in the early hours of Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 95.

He was buried on Thursday in line with Islamic customs, with relatives, community figures, Islamic scholars and other mourners gathering to pay their final respects.

Obasa also attended the burial ceremony with lawmakers from the Lagos State House of Assembly and his associates.

Following the death, the Speaker extended his condolences to the bereaved family, encouraging them to remember the legacy and impact of the late traditional ruler.

“We take comfort in the life he lived and the many lives he touched while with us. I pray that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Al-Jannah Firdaus and gives the family the strength to bear this loss,” Obasa said.
