Paul Pogba could be on his way out of Monaco earlier than expected, with discussions reportedly ongoing over ending his contract.
The former France international returned to professional football last summer after serving a doping suspension and subsequently joined Monaco on a two-year agreement that was expected to keep him at the club through the end of the upcoming season.
However, his stay in the French side could now come to an early end. A source told the BBC that talks over a contract termination are currently taking place and are expected to be resolved soon.
Pogba has reportedly attracted attention from clubs in Major League Soccer, with DC United and Inter Miami among the teams previously linked with the 2018 World Cup winner.
Any potential move to the United States could, however, be affected by a recent injury. Pogba suffered a hamstring problem during Monaco’s pre-season training camp in England earlier this week.
Monaco are yet to make an official statement regarding the reported negotiations over Pogba’s future.
