Nigerian media personality Daddy Freeze has argued that becoming wealthy does not necessarily require serving or worshipping God.
He made the statement during an Instagram Live session on Wednesday night while reacting to remarks made by TikToker Peller at Pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s church in the United Kingdom.
Peller had reportedly said that while other people were praying at night, he was asleep at home, yet God still chose to bless him.
Reacting to the comment, Daddy Freeze argued that wealth is not necessarily tied to religious devotion. He questioned why many devoted Christians continue to struggle financially if wealth is directly dependent on worshipping God.
He said, “When you try to connect worshipping God to possession, you take for granted the sacrifice of the biblical Stephen, when you believe that if you pray to God, He gives you money.
“It’s the stupidity of our parents. They prayed to God but did they have money? As long as you attribute money to God, you will remain poor and broke. God doesn’t give people money. If he did, the top 10 richest people in the world would have been born again Christians.”
The media personality further maintained that wealth is primarily generated through the creation of value rather than religious affiliation.
He added, “You can wake up everyday and say, I hate God, I hate God, I hate God, and still be rich. You don’t need to even acknowledge that God exists to be rich.”
