Nigeria’s Under-18 Men’s Handball team suffered a heavy 55-21 defeat to Egypt in the quarter-finals of the 22nd Africa Men’s Youth Handball Championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on Saturday.

The Nigerian side struggled to match the pace and intensity of the Egyptians, who established a commanding lead and maintained control throughout the encounter to secure their place in the semi-finals.

Despite the defeat, Nigeria’s U18 team had earlier impressed in the group stage, recording victories over Tunisia and Algeria before emphatically defeating Madagascar to book their place in the quarter-finals.

The result brings Nigeria’s campaign at the Africa Men’s Youth Handball Championship to an end, with the young players gaining valuable international experience from their participation in the continental competition.
