The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the collection of newly printed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Oyo State will be strictly personal, ruling out collection by proxy.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, Professor Adeniran Tella, disclosed this in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday.
Tella said the distribution of the newly printed PVCs ahead of the 2027 general elections is scheduled to commence on Friday, October 9, 2026.
He stressed that eligible voters would not be permitted to collect PVCs on behalf of another person.
According to the REC, the exercise will be conducted across all 33 INEC Local Government Area offices in Oyo State.
He urged members of the public and other stakeholders in the electoral process to cooperate with the commission to ensure a smooth exercise.
Tella also disclosed that a significant number of PVCs from the 2023 general elections remain uncollected and are still in the custody of the commission.
He therefore encouraged their owners to take advantage of the collection window to retrieve their cards.
“INEC Oyo State, is to commence the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) across all the 33 INEC Local Government Area Offices in the State as from Friday, 9th October 2026 ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
