The incident occurred around 8pm on Sunday at a popular bar, where residents reportedly came under gunfire from unidentified armed men suspected to be cultists. Several others were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Following the attack, the Plateau State Government announced a 48-hour curfew in Jos North, effective from midnight of March 29 to April 1, 2026. Information Commissioner Joyce Lohya Ramnap described the incident as a “tragic security incident.”
