Former US President Donald Trump has fired a sharp warning at the United Kingdom and other allies over their lack of involvement in US-led actions against Iran, saying the United States “won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us.”
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticised countries that did not participate in strikes on Iran, telling them to secure their own oil and reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz themselves.
He also reignited his ongoing spat with UK Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, accusing the government of refusing “to get involved in the decapitation of Iran” and urging the UK to “start learning how to fight for yourself.”
“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT. You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us,” he wrote.
Trump concluded by asserting that “Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil! President DJT.”
