The controversy surrounding Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has taken a new turn after the doctor linked to her alleged cancer report denied issuing the document.
Dr O.A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist and member of the Nigerian Medical Association (Delta State chapter), reached out to the association to clear the air following the circulation of what was described as a histology report in respect of Blessing Okoro.
The report, which surfaced online, was allegedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Enugu and signed by Dr Odigwe. However, the doctor firmly refuted the claims, stating that his laboratory is based in Asaba, Delta State, not Enugu, and did not at any time issue any report to Blessing Okoro.
He explained that the only related case handled by his facility occurred in May 2025, when a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba requested a confirmatory test for a patient identified as Mbara Deborah.
According to him, the test was successfully conducted and the result, which confirmed breast cancer, was issued on May 9, 2025, to the referring doctor. He noted that this original report, bearing the name Mbara Deborah, is the same document now being circulated online.
Dr Odigwe added that the version being shared publicly, particularly the one linked to Blessing CEO, appears to have been altered, stressing that it did not originate from his facility.
The Nigerian Medical Association said the clarification became necessary in view of how the report is being used, urging the public to be properly guided.
The association also emphasized that the integrity of its members must not be compromised and called on relevant authorities to investigate the matter and protect Nigerians from being misled or exploited.
