Paris Saint-Germain delivered a commanding 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The reigning European champions dominated from the outset, leaving Liverpool struggling to gain a foothold in the game. Doue opened the scoring with a deflected effort that looped over goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Kvaratskhelia sealed the win with a clinical finish in the second half.

Liverpool’s poor run continued, marking just two wins in their last eight games across all competitions. The result sets up a challenging return leg at Anfield, where PSG will aim to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Elsewhere, Barcelona fell 2-0 to Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou, while on Tuesday, Bayern Munich beat Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu and Arsenal edged Sporting 1-0 in Lisbon. The second legs of the quarter-finals will be played next Tuesday and Wednesday.
