Erling Haaland delivered the decisive moment as Manchester City edged Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, cutting the gap to the Premier League leaders to just three points with a game in hand.

The victory ramps up pressure on Arsenal as the title race heads into its closing stages, with City refusing to ease off in their pursuit of the top spot.

City made their early dominance count when Rayan Cherki found the net, finishing off a slick attacking move after previously rattling the post.

Arsenal responded almost instantly, drawing level just 107 seconds later after a clearance from Gianluigi Donnarumma rebounded off Kai Havertz and ended up in the back of the net.

The contest remained open, with both teams creating chances and pushing forward in search of control.

After the break, City stepped up their intensity. Haaland came close when he struck the post before eventually making the breakthrough in the 65th minute, finishing from close range to restore his side’s lead.

Arsenal pushed hard for another equaliser, with Gabriel Magalhães seeing his header deflect onto the post, while Eberechi Eze also hit the woodwork.

Despite sustained late pressure, City held their nerve to claim a crucial win that boosts their title hopes significantly.
