James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, has collected the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The process was formally opened on Tuesday in Abuja by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, who presented the nomination documents to Faleke, also known as the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke’s collection of the forms, along with payment of the N100 million fee on behalf of the President, marks the official commencement of Tinubu’s re-election bid under the party.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed the presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
The electoral body also announced that party primaries, including resolution of disputes arising from them, will hold between April 23 and May 30, 2026.
According to the timetable, campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly campaigns will commence on September 9, 2026.
