Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tolanibaj, has reacted after facing online criticism over her experience paying N107,000 to fill her car tank.
A video shared online showed the reality star at a fuel station reacting in surprise when she was told the cost of a full tank. In the clip, she expressed shock at the amount and spoke about how expensive fuel has become in the country.
“How are Nigerians even coping with this fuel price? I hardly buy fuel and I can’t believe what I’m hearing,” she said, while also asking whether motorists still go for full tanks or settle for half. The attendant responded that customers still purchase full tanks.
She added that the value of money has drastically changed, noting that N10,000 now feels like a much smaller amount due to inflation. She then requested the attendant’s account number to complete the payment.
Following the video, an X user identified as Àshàké, who claims to be a former fuel attendant, suggested she was overcharged.
“Lmaoooo Dem don cheat Tolani Baj for filling station,” the user wrote.
The user also added: “As a former fuel attendant, @tolanibaj I can tell you for free that whoever sold that fuel to you cheated you, and it’s not small cheating.”
Tolanibaj, however, disagreed with the claim, insisting she was not cheated. She replied:
“I wasn’t cheated. I drive a GLE.”
