VeryDarkMan has publicly criticised human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, accusing him of inconsistently taking sides in the ongoing dispute involving businessman Tony Elumelu and social media influencers accused of spreading misinformation.
In a video shared online, VeryDarkMan said Sowore does not represent a clear ideology and instead fights for every issue without consistency. He specifically referenced the recent situation involving Tony Elumelu and a young man who was reportedly arrested over alleged false claims circulating online.
He said:
“Like I said before, Omoyele Sowore does not have anything he represents, he’s a man who f!ght for everything and therefore f!ght for nothing, you can all see what is going on between Tony elumelu and the boy he arr£sted and what sowore is saying and doing about it”
The online critic further accused Sowore of supporting what he described as “influencers spreading misinformation,” adding that his stance appears to conflict with the interests of figures like Tony Elumelu, who he believes were targeted by false narratives.
The exchange adds to the ongoing tension around arrests and online commentary involving influencers, public figures, and activists, especially as Sowore has recently spoken against the arrest of individuals over viral online claims, arguing that such matters should not always be treated as criminal cases.
