Asake has achieved a major streaming milestone with his latest project “M$NEY”, which is now reported to have recorded the biggest opening-week album debut in Spotify Nigeria history.
The project has already amassed 37.5 million streams within just six days of tracking, surpassing Wizkid’s “Morayo”, which previously held the record with 35.8 million streams in its first week.
Despite not yet completing a full seven-day tracking cycle, “M$NEY” has already overtaken the former benchmark, setting a new high for first-week album performance on the platform in Nigeria.
Wizkid’s “Morayo” had been widely praised for its strong debut and had set the pace for streaming records in the country before Asake’s latest release pushed past it.
The development highlights the continued rise of Afrobeats on global streaming platforms, with both artists maintaining strong dominance in Nigeria’s digital music space.
