South African singer Tyla is set to take the global stage as she performs at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City on June 11.
The Grammy-winning star has been confirmed among the headline performers for the tournament’s opening celebration, which will be held at the iconic Estadio Azteca ahead of the first match between Mexico and South Africa.
Tyla’s inclusion adds to FIFA’s lineup of international and regional music acts expected to entertain fans as the world’s biggest football tournament kicks off across Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
The 2026 edition will be the first World Cup hosted by three countries and will also feature an expanded format with 48 national teams competing for the title.
