Daniel Etim Effiong delivered an emotional and deeply personal speech during his wife Toyosi Etim Effiong’s 40th birthday worship celebration, where he reflected on their marriage journey, a near breakup, and his gratitude for her role in his life.

Speaking before guests, the actor revealed that there was a moment in their relationship when they almost broke up before marriage, but Toyosi insisted on staying.

He said:
“The time we were going to break up before we got married Toyosi said no. I didn’t get that. Thank you. But anyways, I’m truly grateful for you, Toyosi.”

During his speech, Toyosi briefly interrupted him after reacting to ongoing online conversations about how much they publicly share about their marriage, saying she had seen a headline referencing criticism about her being posted online.

Daniel then continued his speech, addressing common criticism that he “talks too much” or overshares about his relationship.

He said:
“Oh, but also, people say we talk too much. Oh! Daniel, you talk too much, you’re oversharing.”

Responding to that, he compared his expression of love and gratitude to biblical testimony, saying public celebration of blessings is not unusual.

He added:
“But listen, in the Bible, whenever there was a miracle, people didn’t just keep their mouths shut. They went out and cried, ‘come and see what the Lord has done in my life.’ That’s my story.”

The actor went on to express deep appreciation for his wife, describing her as a major blessing in his life and the reason behind much of his joy and stability.

He said he cannot stop testifying about her impact in his life, adding that he is grateful for her presence and commitment.

Concluding his speech, he described Toyosi as his “greatest win” not just for the moment, but for life.
