Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has reacted to the outcome of this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, sharing her opinion on the results and the selection process.
Commenting after the awards ceremony held over the weekend, she stressed that personal sentiments do not affect her assessment of talent in the film industry, adding that recognition should be based strictly on merit.
She also singled out actor Yul Edochie, describing him as one of the most talented performers who deserves more industry recognition and awards.
At the same time, she urged organisers of the AMVCA to improve their selection process to better reflect deserving performances, while still acknowledging and congratulating all the winners of the night.
She wrote:
“Hate aside, Yul Edochie is a fantastic actor, and he deserves a win. AMVCA, you people can do better. Congratulations to all the amazing winners tho. No hate zone.”
