Etinosa Idemudia has caused a stir online after strongly condemning the practice of people posting private chats and emotional messages only after someone has passed away.

Speaking on a recent podcast, the Nollywood actress criticised what she described as hypocrisy in the entertainment industry, where some individuals allegedly ignore messages and work requests while people are alive, but later return to social media with emotional tributes after their death.

She expressed deep frustration over the trend, warning against it in her own case:

“All those people that post people’s DM when they are dead, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you and go back to the grave. Don’t try it,” she said

Etinosa also took aim at movie producers and colleagues who, according to her, often fail to respond to collaboration messages, only to later post regretful statements after the person is gone.

She continued with another fiery warning:

“DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will die now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it,” she added.

Her comments have since sparked debate online, with many users discussing authenticity in public tributes and how people treat others while they are still alive.

The discussion also brought back references to the late Alexx Ekubo, as similar situations in the past saw celebrities sharing old messages and tributes after his reported death went viral.
