Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has spoken emotionally about her financial struggles years after her reality TV success, revealing that family pressure and constant financial demands left her drained and struggling to manage her earnings.
During a tearful TikTok Live session, she explained that what she initially thought was support for her family eventually became overwhelming, as she kept spending on repeated requests without focusing on long-term investment.
She said:
“I thought I was helping families sort out debt. I thought I was helping… money don come and I had to share it.”
Phyna claimed that instead of being guided on how to invest or build wealth, she was often faced with constant requests for money from different family members.
She said:
“Nobody was interested in me investing. Everybody just wanted money.”
She also alleged that she spent on several family responsibilities and projects, saying the pressure kept building over time.
She added:
“I know how many boreholes I dig for them for family.”
According to her, things changed when she began to refuse some of the financial demands.
She said:
“The moment I started saying no, na that day my problem start… that has been the beginning of my problem.”
Phyna explained that her decision to set boundaries led to disagreements within her family and marked a turning point in both her finances and relationships.
She also reflected on how difficult it became to say no after years of constant requests:
“Somebody will ask for N1M… let me give you 500,000. Now I cannot just say no.”
Her emotional comments have since generated reactions online, with many discussing celebrity financial pressure, family expectations, and money management after fame.
