Former Vice President and former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has sent birthday wishes to former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, describing him as a “brother and fellow patriot”.
In a message posted on his X account on Wednesday, Atiku praised Amaechi’s courage, strong convictions and his years of service to Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Happy Birthday to my brother and fellow patriot, H.E. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Your courage, conviction and years of service to Rivers State and Nigeria continue to inspire many across the nation,” he wrote.
He also wished the former Rivers State governor good health, strength and many more impactful years in public service.
“I wish you good health, strength and many more years of impactful service to our dear country,” Atiku added.
The message of goodwill comes at a time of tension surrounding the presidential primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where Amaechi, one of the contenders, rejected the outcome of the exercise, calling the results announced nationwide “concocted.”
