Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, visited former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in Abuja on Tuesday following his release from detention.
The visit occurred at Malami’s residence just hours after he was freed by the Department of State Services (DSS), where he had been held for months.
Although details of their discussion remain unclear, the meeting is believed to be connected to Malami’s legal situation involving the DSS and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Reports indicate that Malami was granted bail on Monday. A video circulating online also showed the former justice minister reuniting with his family in an emotional moment after his time in custody.
