A joyous atmosphere filled the palace of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi as the revered monarch and his wife, Olori Mariam, celebrated the naming of their twin sons in a ceremony attended by family members, palace chiefs and well-wishers.

The traditional event took place at the Ile-Ife Palace in Osun State, with several of the Ooni’s queens, including Olori Aderonke, Olori Temitope and Olori Ashley, also present to witness the occasion.

As custom demands, prayers and blessings were offered over symbolic items such as kola nuts, bitter kola, bananas, beans, sugarcane, dried fish, water, gin and cash, all representing different wishes for the newborns’ future.

During the ceremony, elders unveiled the names chosen for the twins. The first child, Taiwo, was named Adelowo, Adelanaire, Adejare, Adedunmininu, Ademola and Taiwo Omo Ooni Adeyeye Ojaja II.

The second child, Kehinde, received the names Adeleye, Adelanaola, Adejuwon, Adedoyim, Adebola and Kehinde Omo Ooni Adeyeye Ojaja II.

Guests were treated to traditional musical performances and cultural displays as they joined the royal family in celebrating the arrival of the princes. The festivities later continued with a reception at the palace, where attendees enjoyed food, drinks and entertainment.
