Ibrahima Konaté has completed a move to Real Madrid, signing a four-year contract with the Spanish giants after leaving Liverpool at the expiration of his deal.

The French international joins Real Madrid on a free transfer, ending his time at Anfield after contract extension talks reportedly failed to produce an agreement.

Konaté arrives in Madrid with a wealth of experience, having made 183 appearances at club level and earned 27 caps for the French national team.

His signing comes at a crucial time for Real Madrid, who are looking to strengthen their defensive options following an injury setback to Éder Militão. The centre-back is expected to play a key role in the squad under incoming manager José Mourinho.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez reportedly finalised the deal on Wednesday as part of efforts to bolster the team ahead of the new season.

The transfer is viewed as a major coup for the Spanish club, with Real Madrid securing an established defender in his prime years without paying a transfer fee.
