Phyna has issued a public apology and clarification after a viral video in which she referred to police officers as kidnappers during an incident involving her cameraman.
In a follow-up statement, the former Big Brother Naija winner explained that her earlier comments were made out of misunderstanding and frustration over what was happening at the scene.
She said the situation began when her cameraman was searched and a “crusher” was reportedly found in his bag, which led to further questioning.
According to her, officers also discovered a small quantity of weed in his possession, which she described as minimal, adding that it may have been partially used.
Phyna stated that the discovery led to his arrest, but confirmed that the issue has since been resolved.
“I’m here to quickly debunk the video I made this morning where I called those men kidnappers. What happened was a crusher was found in my cameraman’s bag. While we were at that, they found a small weed that he has smoked, maybe half of it in his pocket. They found that and that was why he was arrested and now the matter has been resolved,” she said.
