Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema delivered one of the standout moments of the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony as he joined BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Brazilian singer Anitta to perform their collaboration, Goals, live for the first time.
The trio took centre stage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday night, entertaining fans with a vibrant performance that blended their different musical backgrounds into one electrifying show.
Representing Africa, Asia and South America respectively, Rema, Lisa and Anitta showcased a fusion of Afrobeats, K-pop and Latin pop, creating an atmosphere worthy of football’s biggest stage.
Videos from the ceremony showed Rema commanding attention in an all-white hooded outfit as he performed with confidence alongside the two global stars.
Goals was released in May as part of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album. Produced by Grammy-winning hitmaker Cirkut alongside Bava and Pink Slip, the song combines upbeat rhythms with inspirational lyrics and has quickly become a fan favourite.
Rema closes the track with an energetic Afrobeats-inspired verse, portraying himself as a determined and unstoppable artist who continues to “score goals” both in his career and personal journey.
The performance further highlights Rema’s growing global influence, as the singer continues to represent Nigeria on some of the world’s biggest stages.
