Asake’s mother, Ololade, has opened up about the singer’s childhood, shedding light on his determined and headstrong nature.
In an interview with Korty, she recalled how Asake would often disappear for days whenever he got into trouble at home.
“Asake was so stubborn that if he commits an offense at home, he will run away from home for 3-4 days and we’ll look for him everywhere. […] I had gotten his international passport to study in the UK, but he insisted on going to OAU,” she said.
Ololade explained that despite her efforts to send him abroad for his education, Asake was determined to follow his own path and chose to attend Obafemi Awolowo University instead.
Her account highlights the singer’s early independence and determination, qualities that have shaped his journey to success in the music industry.
