Pa James has opened up about his long-standing collaboration with veteran producer Wale Adenuga Productions, revealing how it significantly shaped his career and financial stability.
In an interview with Lucky Udu, the actor, renowned for his role in Papa Ajasco and Company, said the show brought him widespread recognition and allowed him to achieve milestones like purchasing his first car.
“I’m still working with Wale Adenuga, and he has always treated me well. The show gave me more fame than I ever had in Yoruba films, and financially, it helped me a lot. I bought my first car from my earnings with him.
In the past, we used to work back-to-back, but now, after shooting a few episodes, it can be two years before we are called again. To continue working, you need another source of income to cover your expenses.
I can act in other projects, but no one else can play Pa James because the name is trademarked. When I started, I earned N2,500 per episode. Today, the pay is N45,000 per episode for about 10 episodes,” Pa James explained.
