The widow of late Nollywood actor Mr. Ibu has dismissed allegations that she secretly sold off his properties and kept the proceeds for herself, insisting the distribution of his estate followed a court-approved process.

Speaking on the matter, she explained that the decision to sell some of the properties was jointly made by her and two of the actor’s sons after the court shared the estate among all beneficiaries. She added that the court ruled she was entitled to one-third of her late husband’s estate as his legally married wife.

She also addressed her marriage, revealing that she was aware Mr. Ibu had children outside their union and said he continued fathering children even while they were married.

Reacting to criticism over her recent appeal for financial support, she said she has always been hardworking and is only seeking assistance to expand her business. She recalled that before her husband’s death, she used to personally transport and sell her goods until he asked her to stop because he felt it embarrassed him.

She said:

“My late husband had children out of wedlock. I did not sell his properties and keep the money for myself. The court shared the properties among all of us.

“The court shared the property among us. It was my late husband’s two sons and I who jointly agreed to sell the properties.

“The court ruled that one-third of his estate belongs to his legitimate wife.”

“You know my husband (late Mr. Ibu) had children out of wedlock. He was even having children even when married to me.”

“He doesn’t want me to do anything. I used to carry my goods inside my car to go and sell. My late husband said I should stop that I’m disgracing him.

“Please support my business. I’m not a lazy person.”

“Only God Almighty will judge everyone that keeps dragging me online. I’m innocent.”
