Nigerian track star Tobi Amusan continued her impressive form on Sunday by winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League in a season-best time of 12.28 seconds.
Competing at Stade Charléty, the reigning world record holder produced a commanding performance from start to finish, pulling away from the field to claim another Diamond League victory.
American hurdler Grace Stark finished second after clocking 12.38 seconds, while Johnson secured third place in 12.39 seconds.
Amusan’s winning mark matched the fastest time she has recorded this season, having also run 12.28 seconds at the Xiamen and Rabat Diamond League meetings earlier in the year.
The Paris meeting was held under a revised timetable following a severe heatwave that swept across France, forcing organisers to cancel all lower-tier youth and regional club events.
Despite the scorching conditions, with temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius, the 29-year-old delivered a flawless race, bursting out of the blocks, clearing each hurdle smoothly, and building an early advantage before comfortably crossing the finish line ahead of her competitors.
