Sunday Kotor, the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has died after suddenly collapsing at a private function in the state.

The incident happened on Friday evening, where Kotor reportedly slumped during the gathering and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite urgent medical attention, he could not be revived and was later confirmed dead.

The news has thrown the Delta State Government into mourning, with Governor Oborevwori expressing deep sadness over the shocking loss.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor described Kotor as a loyal and hardworking aide who served with dedication.

“the late Sunday Kotor was wholly dedicated to his job. His passing is a huge loss, not only to his family but to the government and people of Delta State.”

He also extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, particularly his younger brother, Conference Kotor, who is also serving in the administration as Senior Special Assistant on media.

Kotor was a well-known figure within Government House in Asaba, where he anchored and coordinated official engagements for over 20 years, earning respect for his professionalism and commitment to duty.
