Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has announced that she has converted from Islam to Christianity, saying she decided to dedicate her life to Jesus Christ after what she described as a miraculous healing from a mysterious illness that affected her for nine years.

The actress revealed that she will publicly share her testimony during the Holy Ghost Revival programme organised by Queen Belemzy Ministries (School of Power), scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Merit House in Maitama, Abuja.

According to Halima, the event will provide her with the opportunity to speak about her health struggles, how she nearly lost her life, and how she believes God restored her through the prayers of Apostle Queen Belemzy.

She said:

“I’m a brand-new person now. I have given my life to Christ. I want to serve God because He has helped me. I almost died. They almost killed me. This is not about movies; this is about restoration and testimony. Halima Abubakar is back, big and better.”

Recalling how she first met the cleric, the actress admitted that she was initially rude because of the emotional and physical pain she was going through at the time.

“I was somehow rude to her because of my mood then, but she still went ahead to pray with me over the phone. I later felt the impact of her prayers regarding my health, so I started searching for her number via my WhatsApp calls. I eventually got in touch with her, she continued to pray with me, and God took control of everything through her.

“Right now, I’m ready to serve God because He wants me to serve Him. He has delivered me, so I need to serve Him and preach His gospel to the people.”
