Protesters marched through the streets of Abuja on Thursday, calling on prominent opposition figures—including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Senate President David Mark—to steer clear of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The rally was organized by Nafiu Bala, the factional National Chairman of the ADC, who accused the political heavyweights of attempting to take control of the party.
ADC House of Representatives member Leke Abejide joined Bala as they led supporters carrying placards with messages such as “Woe to Political Marauders” and “Hon. Nafiu Bala, We Stand With You.”
The protest appears to be a counteraction following an earlier demonstration by the David Mark faction outside the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters.
