Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi visited Nasir El-Rufai in Abuja to offer condolences over the passing of his mother, but the meeting also turned political as he criticised the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Amaechi, while expressing sympathy, addressed the controversy surrounding El-Rufai’s reported detention, questioning the manner in which the situation was handled by authorities.
According to him, the decision to release the former Kaduna governor without any court directive suggests that those behind the move were fully aware of their actions from the outset.
“To show you that the government knows what they’re doing, they just released him (El-Rufai) without a court order”
His remarks come amid increasing reactions from political figures who have continued to raise concerns over the incident, with critics pointing to it as a sign of troubling developments within the current administration.
