The cause of death for late Nigerian singer Afeez Adesina has been officially confirmed following an autopsy.
The Police Homicide Section conducted the examination, with results released last week, according to Daily Trust. Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed the findings.
Toxicology tests showed that Destiny Boy’s body contained harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites, alongside methamphetamine. The report concluded that his death was caused by aspiration pneumonitis, a condition triggered by the ingestion of these toxic substances.
The official statement read: “The Consultant Anatomic Pathologist reported that toxicology results revealed harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, and opined that the cause of death was aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the ingestion of these toxic substances, with the date of death being 17/01/2026.”
