A faction of Boko Haram known as Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad (JAS) has released a video showing 416 residents abducted from Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area, claiming the captives are alive and being well treated.

The video, reportedly obtained by DAILY POST, showed the victims—mainly women and children, with a few men—being displayed by the insurgents as they spoke during the recording.

In the six-minute clip, a member of the group claimed the video was produced at the request of the Borno South Youths Alliance (BOSYA), which he said has been acting as a mediator since the abduction.

The group further insisted that all 416 abductees remain in their custody and are safe.

Meanwhile, BOSYA confirmed the abduction figure and appealed to the Nigerian government, international partners, and global stakeholders to urgently intervene and ensure the safe return of the victims.

The attack on Ngoshe community reportedly occurred on March 4, when armed insurgents invaded the area and took hundreds of residents hostage.
