Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has stepped down from his role as Deputy Governor of Kano State.

His spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, confirmed the development on Friday, stating that the resignation had been formally submitted, though no details were given about the reason behind the decision.

The move comes amid growing friction between Gwarzo and the Kano State House of Assembly, which recently raised allegations of misconduct and questioned aspects of his official duties. Lawmakers had also begun moves many viewed as a precursor to disciplinary action, fueling concerns over a possible political crisis.

His resignation also follows recent political changes in the state, including Governor Abba Yusuf’s defection to the All Progressives Congress, a shift that has significantly altered Kano’s political landscape.
