Yusuf Buhari, the only son of late former president Muhammadu Buhari, has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a letter dated April 3, 2026, Yusuf—who holds the traditional title Talban Daura—announced his ambition to represent the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
In the personally signed document obtained on Monday, he stated that his decision followed extensive consultations and a desire to contribute to effective leadership in the constituency.
He expressed confidence that with adequate backing, his candidacy would help drive infrastructure development and improve the welfare of the people in the area.
Yusuf also appealed for support and encouragement, stressing that his ambition is rooted in a commitment to delivering meaningful progress to his constituents.
