Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has urged men who are not financially stable to think twice before fathering children, warning that the current economic climate makes parenting even more demanding.
Speaking in a video posted online, Agu pointed to the continuous rise in living expenses, including the cost of diapers, school fees, fuel, and other daily needs, stressing that raising a child now requires serious financial planning.
He warned that men who ignore these realities and act carelessly may end up overwhelmed by the responsibilities that follow, saying the burden could be more painful than expected.
“Pampers prices are increasing, school fees are rising, fuel prices are increasing, and even the cost of commodities keeps going up, yet you have nothing, and you’re still getting a woman pregnant, you’ll definitely cry more than that baby.
“You no guild you no get shiii shiii, and you dey release inside a woman, continue enjoyment wan finish you, but you will cry more than the baby when the time to chest the billing comes”, he said.
