Socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has acknowledged that refusing to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a wrong political decision.

He made the remark while addressing a political gathering in Imo State, explaining that the meeting was not arranged suddenly but came after several weeks of consultations among political supporters and stakeholders in the area.

According to him, the purpose of the gathering was to encourage unity among political actors in the region and demonstrate support for the federal government.

The businessman noted that years of remaining in opposition had not produced the results many people expected, prompting a change in political direction.

“We have decided to partner with the government at the center. We are not ready to fight. We tried fighting and it didn’t work for us.”

Chief Priest said working with the federal authorities could help attract development projects and other opportunities to the South-East.

During his speech, he also commended Hope Uzodimma for maintaining a cooperative relationship with the presidency, saying such an approach has placed the state in a better position to benefit from federal support.

He further spoke about the growing influence of Seyi Tinubu, whom he described as someone helping to connect people across different political and ethnic backgrounds. According to him, that engagement has encouraged many young Nigerians and public figures to take a stronger interest in national politics.

Reflecting on the previous election, the socialite admitted he had earlier opposed Tinubu’s candidacy but now believes that stance was a political miscalculation.

“Politics is a game…we don’t want to lose again and we will never waste our votes again.”

He also predicted that the support currently building around the president could eventually grow into one of the biggest political movements in the country, noting that mobilisation efforts are already underway ahead of future elections.

Chief Priest ended his remarks by praying for the success of the president’s administration and urged Nigerians to embrace unity and cooperation for the nation’s development.
