The Deejays Association of Nigeria has denied reports alleging that it placed a ban on music belonging to Burna Boy following his reported altercation with DJ Tunez.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the association described the reports circulating online as false and misleading, clarifying that no directive was issued restricting the artiste’s songs. Its National President, Prince Akim Edeh, also stressed that he did not authorise any form of ban on Burna Boy’s music.

The association noted that it strongly condemns any form of violence or physical confrontation within the entertainment industry and said it is monitoring the situation as investigations continue.

“We noted with grave concern reports surrounding a recent incident involving a Disc Jockey and Burna Boy. As a body dedicated to the growth and integrity of the entertainment industry, we maintain a firm and unwavering stance against any form of violence or physical confrontation. We are currently monitoring ongoing investigations. DJAN remains committed to fostering a healthy and collaborative environment between all practitioners and performing artists within the music space,” he stated.

DJAN also clarified that DJ Tunez is not a registered member of the association, urging the public to remain calm while relevant authorities look into the matter.

“We urge the public to remain calm and allow the relevant authorities to investigate the matter. We didn’t and have no intention to place ban on Burna Boy’s music or any other artist,” he added.
