Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has fired back at Baba Ijesha after he claimed her children were once under his care, issuing a stern warning to keep them out of his narrative.
In a statement, Iyabo stressed that while she has no problem with him sharing his side of the story, using her children as part of it is unacceptable.
“SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT
I honestly have no problem with you, Baba Ijesha telling your side of the story.
But take this as a notice to CEASE AND DESIST from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly.”
She made it clear that her children were never left alone, always under the care of nannies or her late mother.
“My kids have always had nannies or my late mum with them, and they were never alone.”
Iyabo also highlighted that her former Ilupeju business had a full staff of stylists, sales reps, and apprentices, making it impossible for her to be running errands personally, and that she could always send someone if needed.
“At my former business place in Ilupeju, I had multiple staff, including stylists, sales reps, and apprentices, so it’s unlikely I’d be the one running errands. I can send a worker if needed.”
She emphasized that her professional relationship with Baba Ijesha was limited to being colleagues and dismissed any claims otherwise.
“You were a senior colleague no more to it…”
Addressing the core issue, Iyabo underscored that the case involved a minor and that sexual assault is a serious crime, reminding him that the court found him guilty.
“However, that 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse.
The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this.”
She ended with a strong legal warning, stating she would take action if her children are mentioned again, and reaffirmed her stance against child abuse and sexual assault with hashtags.
“Stop mentioning their names else I would direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers.
