Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, has announced his resignation from the party.

Gawuna, who served as deputy governor under former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, conveyed his decision in a letter addressed to the APC chairman of Gawuna Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area.

In the letter, he described his exit as a personal decision, stating, “I hereby formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 29, 2026.”

Following his departure, sources suggest that Gawuna is already making moves to align politically with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, with plans to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
