Leeds United have been drawn against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals, while Southampton will take on Manchester City as the race for the trophy heats up.
Leeds looked set for a comfortable victory in their quarter-final clash after building a 2-0 lead heading into stoppage time. However, West Ham staged a dramatic late comeback with two quick goals to force extra time. Despite the setback, Leeds kept their composure and eventually triumphed via a penalty shootout to seal their place in the last four, where they will meet Chelsea.
Southampton, on the other hand, earned their semi-final spot after overcoming league leaders Arsenal. Their victory set up a tough encounter against Manchester City, who delivered a dominant 4-0 win over Liverpool in their own quarter-final fixture.
Both semi-final matches are scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on April 25 and 26.
“It’s always going to be a difficult match against Chelsea. They’re a good side, but it’s the FA Cup, we’re going to Wembley. Excited. I’ve never had the opportunity to play at Wembley for club before, so for me it was a big chance today.
“When it went to 2-2, I thought maybe it’s not meant to be, but thankfully, we stuck in there and got the win.”
